Horizon 2020

Step by Step is funded by the Horizon 2020 (H2020) programme. Horizon 2020 is the financial instrument implementing the Innovation Union, a Europe 2020 flagship initiative aimed at securing Europe’s global competiveness, by coupling research and innovation.

Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020).

Step by Step has been submitted under the Energy Efficiency Call H2020-EE-2014-3-MarketUptake, within the work programme for ‘Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy’.

The Energy Challenge is one of the seven challenges formulated by the European Union, reflecting the policy priorities of the Europe 2020 strategy. The Energy Challenge is designed to support the transition to a reliable, sustainable and competitive energy system.
