Warsaw

Warsaw, capital of Poland, has a population of 1.7 million, around 3 million live within the agglomeration. Warsaw is a political, economic, adacemic and cultural centre of the country. The Step by Step project will be deployed in blocks of flats in the city center, with a mixed population.

The city Of Warsaw has signed, as only big city in Poland, the Covenant of Mayors in 2009 and submitted the Sustainable Energy Action Plan in 2011. Warsaw has participated in work of the European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities, which results were transferred to the Horizon 2020 Programme.

Role of Warsaw in the Step by Step project: The City Council of Warsaw will organise and coordinate the application of the project in Warsaw. 3.000 households will be targeted.
